Le député libéral fédéral Dominique Leblanc prêt à aider les Coffin
Federal MP, Dominic Leblanc, ready to help the Coffins
The Gaspé Spec , May 5, 2010
Federal Liberal MP for Beauséjour riding in New Brunswick, Dominic Leblanc, was in Gaspé on April 22. He met with local politicians and helped to raise money for the Gaspé and Magdalene Islands Federal Liberal Association at a cocktail in Chandler.
« I met with local politicians in Gaspé and Chandler. I visited the shrimp plant in Fox River and spoke with them about many subjects concerning the economic regional development», Mr. Leblanc said in an interview with SPEC. He is also the Liberal spokesperson for Justice. «I was surprised to learn how much my riding in Acadia and the Gaspé have in common in terms of regional development». He was asked if he was ready to support the Coffin family in its quest to clear Wilbert Coffin's name, who was hanged in 1956? «I'm well aware of that file. And I think that a Liberal government would be willing to work with Québec's General Prosecutor in order to find a way to satisfy the wishes of the Coffin family».
I wish the Coffin family that this is not another politician’s promise
